It Looks Like The Mandalorian Season 2 Will Be Like Game Of Thrones

It Looks Like Mandalorian Season 2 Will Be Like Game Of Thrones

Let us explain the situation.

The Mandalorian

2020 has surely not been a good year for movie/series fans as countless upcoming productions have paused their filmings due to the global pandemic. As a result, many release dates have been postponed and it’s unlikely that we will see any big difference in the next while (we can only hope for the best). The Mandalorian is not one of these series though! Fans can sleep well knowing that the Star-Wars Spin-Off series will have its second season released in October. People are really waiting for any details of the new season but Disney has not given any “clues” to the fans-no trailer or story details.

Thankfully, the cast of the series gave us some information! More specifically, Jon Favreau publicly said that season 2 of the show will look like Game of Thrones. The only connection between GOT and the Mandalorian that fans can think of, is Pedro Pascal. Pedro Pascal has been on both shows but that’s not what Jon really tried to say.

His exact words are:

“The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world. The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully, we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show. . . . As we introduce other characters, there are opportunities to follow different storylines. The world was really captivated by Game of Thrones and how that evolved as the characters followed different storylines — that’s very appealing to me as an audience member.”

Okay, don’t worry if you don’t make any point, we are here to help! From his speech, we understood that John Favreau wants to level-up the development of his characters in the same way GOT did it. That means he tried to give an epic style to them in season 2, probably through different storylines.

The Mandalorian

Many fans were worried that these growths of the characters will lead to less screen-time for their favorites protagonists, the Child, and the Mandalorian but Dave Filoni (part of the creative team) made things clear:

“Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy.”

After this reveal (that was pretty much expected) we can’t wait to see what interesting stories the creative team chose for Season 2! Fortunately, we won’t wait much. The Mandalorian Season 2 has set a release date for October 30 and it will be for sure a big-hit on Disney+.
